Gorkha Municipality feels honored to welcome delegation of Swedish Parliamentarians in Gorkha at 20th Feb, 2018. The programme was conducted in the leadership of mayor of gorkha municipality, Rajan Raj Panta. With the presence of deputy mayor of gorkha municipality, Bina Kumari Shrestha; CDO Jitendra Basnet, DDC chairman Ashok Kumar Gurung, LDO Narayan Acharya, DTO Hom Nath Paudel and other personnels of gorkha municipality, Gorkha Municipality warmly welcomes the team of swedish delegates as well as UNDP country director and Recovery and Resilience Unit. The team highly appreciated the ongoing reconstruction works and other rehabilitation programmes and were optimist to the fact that gorkha is recovering rapidly from the disasterous earthquake that happened in 2015.The team was happy to see the development progress happening in gorkha as well as highly acknowledged the hardship and throughput provided by Gorkha Municipality for the developmental purposes. The team visited UNDP supported program in collaboration with local government and also interacted with the earthquake affected communities benefitted by the construction of Charasay Phant Irrigation Scheme, Ward 13. The team also had a pleasant visit to Gorkha Durbar, the historic palace of king Prithivi Narayan Shah and closely observed the re-construction progress there.
